Lop-Eared Guard – Extra 4

Lu Yan leaned his back against the height measurement ruler on the door frame of the balcony, trying to straighten his back to appear taller and raised his eyes to look at Yan Yi expectantly.

Yan Yi squatted in front of him and drew a mark on his height ruler, “You’ve grown another centimetre this month.”

Lu Yan grabbed his rabbit ears and sat his butt on the ground in disappointment, feeling particularly sad, “I’m already three years old and still only this tall. I can’t grow to look like daddy anymore.”

Finding it funny, Yan Yi rubbed his ears, “Your daddy is an alpha. Is it not good to look like me?”

“Not good. I want to be like this.” Lu Yan stood up, flinging his little tail and opening his arms to gently hug Yan Yi, “Wrap around daddy and hug him.”

The honey-flavoured round bunny was always soft and fluffy when he pressed close. Yan Yi smiled and stroked the ends of his hair. His hair had grown and needed a cut. When it was time to go to kindergarten, everything had to be prepared in advance.

Lu Yan’s lopped ears suddenly stood up as he heard the sound of the key outside the door. He then hurriedly ran over and tiptoed up to open the door.

“Daddy!”

Lu Shangjin came back from working overtime. As soon as he entered the door, he was pounced on by the baby who had jumped up and threw himself into a hug. Lu Shangjin held Lu Yan in front of him to give him a kiss, his rough chin rubbing against Lu Yan’s face, causing the little bunny to cry out.

He then stuffed a gift into Lu Yan’s arms. The little bunny happily dropped on the sofa to open the gift, which was a small carrot backpack filled with brand new and exquisite stationery inside.

Lu Yan delightfully took out every gift to touch and then brought them to Yan Yi to share the joy of this moment with him.

Yan Yi sat next to him, picked up a carrot shaped eraser and studied it carefully, his eyebrows gently stretching out.

Suddenly, an arm was draped over his shoulder. Lu Shangjin sat down, leaning against the back of the sofa with his legs stretched and placed a quartz watch on Yan Yi’s wrist.

“What occasion is it today?” Yan Yi raised his wrist and looked at the dial. The designer’s name was engraved in a tiny row on the gears, which he had also heard of before.

“No occasion.” Lu Shangjin glanced away, “I just wanted to give you a gift.”

Yan Yi thought about it. He had been meeting presidents from several branches the past few days and had casually taken a watch from his drawer to put on.

The watch was once picked by Assistant Mu and there was a scattered alpha scent stained on it.

Yan Yi’s waist slightly tightened as Lu Shangjin pulled his whole body over. The alpha raised his face and hooked a hand around Yan Yi’s neck, asking him to bend down and look at him. He placed his hand on his butt, sandwiching Yan Yi’s tail between his fingers.

“Do you like it?” He asked.

But he was betrayed by the look in his eyes. The alpha was clearly asking; do you like me?

Yan Yi thought for a while, then he lowered his head and rubbed the tip of his nose against the alpha’s earlobe.

Lu Shangjin trembled slightly as he repeatedly confirmed that he had received a response. Restraining himself, he looked up and pecked Yan Yi’s lips twice.

Yan Yi feld something slowly hardening against him, but he couldn’t move away with the child next to him. A little embarrassed, Lu Shangjin also covered his eyes.

The two of them pressed their foreheads very close together, and after a few seconds, they couldn’t help but blush and burst out laughing.

Lu Yan’s attention finally averted away from the gift and to the two of them. He blinked in confusion, wondering why they were laughing.

Yan Yi pursed his lips, “Your dad really has no willpower.”

Lu Shangjin spread his hand and hung it over the back of the sofa, “Your dad is the one who’s too beautiful and too charming.”

Lu Yan happily climbed between the two, as though he was a lump of honey and cream filling.

When the weather was good during the holidays, the family would occasionally take a self-drive trip. When it got busy, they would also take time to set up a grill in the yard, and at night, the aroma of grilled meat, roasted mushrooms, and corn would waft throughout the yard.

Near the day of the start of kindergarten classes, Lu Yan suddenly fell ill.

A child having a fever wasn’t a small matter. At 2 a.m. in the morning, Lu Yan’s entire body was so hot that he was like a stove. He squeezed into Yan Yi’s arms uncomfortably and his tender glands were red, swollen, and burning.

Yan Yi picked up the child and ran downstairs. He didn’t dare to take Lu Yan to the Lu family’s own hospital which would be easier, but it would take more than an hour to drive to An Fei Ya Hospital. There was a general hospital nearby, but he was worried that they wouldn’t be able to treat children with gland inflammation.

After considering several options, Yan Yi quickly packed up a few daily necessities and took Lu Yan to An Fei Ya Hospital in Jiu’an City. Unexpectedly, a series of car accidents had occurred on the highway a few minutes ago, temporarily blocking the road.

At this moment, Lu Shangjin was on a business trip.

Yan Yi got out of the car and carried the burning hot little Lu Yan. He leaned against the car door to give Lu Shangjin a phone call, his fingers clutching the phone so tightly that they turned white.

The phone rang a few times before it was answered. The alpha’s voice was a bit tired, perhaps because he had just slept after work, but he couldn’t hide his anxiety and hurriedly asked Yan Yi why he was calling so late.

“Qiu Qiu has a fever. I’m at the Hui’an expressway.”

Lu Shangjin heard Yan Yi’s extreme anxiety in the short sentence. With his temper, only when all available methods were used up would he turn to Lu Shangjin for help.

The location of the business trip was in downtown Changhui. Lu Shangjin drove overnight to the city hospital which Yan Yi had sent him the location to. The hospital’s medical resources could only be considered average and there was a clear instruction that glands could not be treated.

He rushed into the injection room and saw Lu Yan’s leg with an IV drip infusion. He was sleeping in Yan Yi’s arms in pain. Yan Yi leaned back against the cold and hard wall, silently looking up, his eyes turning red without blinking.

“Let’s go, let’s go, come here.” Lu Shangjin gently and swiftly pulled out the needle for Lu Yan, squeezing the child into his coat to wrap him up and hold him. He then pulled Yan Yi up and hurried out while releasing strong soothing pheromones to give the two panic-stricken omegas the greatest sense of security.

Yan Yi’s wrist was grasped tightly as he gazed at the alpha’s calm and composed look from behind. He slowly broke free from his hand. When Lu Shangjin looked back at him in confusion, he reached out and clasped his ten fingers together with the alpha’s.

The Lu family private hospital was gradually replaced and reorganized by Lu Shangjin during this year and the family members who supported the hospital were forced to withdraw one by one with a combination of hard and soft measures. Lu Shangjin had then been able to control more than half of the resources and connections in the hospital.

After the little bunny was taken to the treatment room by the emergency doctor, Yan Yi finally lost his strength. As his lips turned white, he leaned against Lu Shangjin’s shoulder, and lightly breathed a sigh of relief.

“Don’t worry, it’s normal for a child to have some illnesses, it’s nothing serious.” Lu Shangjin grasped Yan Yi’s ice-cold hand, wiping his forehead and hair that was wet from cold sweat.

Yan Yi lowered his head and rested against the crook of Lu Shangjin’s shoulder in exhaustion, saying quietly, “Thank you.”

Lu Shangjin frowned. He held Yan Yi’s jaw to make him look at him, “You’re trying to make me angry again.”

His words on his lips were accusing Yan Yi, but the soothing pheromones he was releasing didn’t reduce at all. Like an invisible hand, it gently soothed Yan Yi’s tense heart.

The result turned out to be more of a scare than any real danger. It was just glandular inflammation caused by a contagious virus. After two days of being put on an IV, they could take Lu Yan home and take good care of him.

With his little ears drooping, Lu Yan didn’t have much energy. As soon as he was tucked into bed, he curled up into a ball and fell asleep.

Yan Yi covered him with a thin blanket, leaned over and kissed the pitiful little face before quietly exiting the bedroom and closing the door.

Lu Shangjin was waiting outside the door. As soon as Yan Yi came out, he was grabbed and pulled over by a pair of hands.

“You must be so exhausted.” Lu Shangjin lowered his head and kissed between his brows. “When anything happens in the future, whether you can handle it or not, you have to call me first, okay?”

Yan Yi nodded his head.

“Good boy.” Lu Shangjin then asked again, “Do you love me?”

Yan Yi was slightly silent. He swept a glance at the alpha’s chest and then quietly leaned up.
