Lop-Eared Guard – 26

“Jin ge…when can you…not bully me…”

Like the dew on an insect’s fluttering wings, the trembling voice grasped lightly onto Lu Shangjin’s heart. With a confused look appearing on his face, Lu Shangjin pulled the violently trembling little rabbit into his arms, took out a piece of tissue to wipe Yan Yi’s tears, and kissed his eyes uneasily, “Was I too fierce?”

Yan Yi felt exhausted and weak all over. He answered an ‘mn’ with a soft voice, his thin and fragile body wrapped in Lu Shangjin’s arms, without even having the strength to move.

He really appeared to be in pain.

“Don’t cry, don’t cry.” Lu Shangjin bent over and held Yan Yi’s cheek, wiping his tears and his nose, “Tsk, what’s gotten into you.”

The tip of Yan Yi’s nose was red, like a white cherry with a layer of pink. After being ruthlessly bullied, it shrank into a tiny ball.

It made him reminisce about their first meeting. Yan Yi was still a little baby bunny, not really knowing how to speak at the age of seven. He was lying on the window of the piano room while standing on his tip-toes, pricking his ears to hear him play the piano.

When he was caught on the spot, he held himself into a ball from fear and shyness, like a little dumpling who had grown a pair of bunny ears and a round fluffy tail, trembling as he said “it sounds nice.”

    ——

After taking him to wash up, Lu Shangjin carried him back to tuck him into the quilt. Yan Yi’s expression was a little uncomfortable as he shrank in Lu Shangjin’s arms drowsily.

Lu Shangjin couldn’t help but feel moody. The good mood of having just expressed his sexual desire had been worn down by over half.

Yan Yi’s show of affection towards him had been weary, why didn’t he like it?

Shouldn’t he have sex when he’s on his heat? He really just wanted to make Yan Yi have an easier time during his heat period. Moreover, he had exhausted half a lifetime’s worth of patience this time. He was gentle in every particular detail, how could Yan Yi feel discomfort?

When he had asked his assistant to buy milk and strawberries before, Yan Yi had also ate them with difficulty,

Just as he was tired of him, Yan Yi seemed to be tired of himself. Lu Shangjin felt a little flustered, but quickly calmed down, because he thought about the content of a book he had read before.

The “higher-grade reproductive instinct theory” has long been confirmed. There were few higher-grade omegas, so in order to continue this high-grade gene, their racial instincts will increase their psychological attachment to the alpha who marked them. The higher the grade of glandular differentiation, the stronger the psychological attachment.

However, for alphas of higher differentiative grades, their pheromones would encourage them to seek out more omega combinations to leave higher-grade offspring. This evolutionary instinct is the survival of the fittest race.

Although there have been scholars who put forward that “higher-grade instincts obey the theory of mutual attraction compatibility”, for unknown fields, people are always used to believing what they want to believe.

There are two sides to everything. The third-grade differentiated high-ordered glands not only allowed omegas to possess powerful abilities beyond the reach of ordinary people, they were also like an invisible shackle, making them prisoner to the laws of nature.

So, Lu Shangjin could feel reassured by this support.

He bent down to touch the little rabbit’s soft and fluffy hair gently, “Yan Yan, don’t you miss me?”

Yan Yi hadn’t fallen asleep yet. Hearing him ask this, he seemed to be more fully awake.

How could he not miss him?

He would always bring a rose with him when he came home, and would tell him at the moment when his alpha looked at him, “I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you.”

The rose in his pocket would wither, but Lu Shangjin wouldn’t spare him a single look.

There’s no use missing him.

Yan Yi dusted his little rabbit ears and asked in a hoarse voice, “Isn’t it comfortable to get into bed with a partner of high compatibility fit? So many omegas are waiting for you to go back and spoil them.”

Lu Shangjin was stunned. He suddenly understood that Yan Yi was unexpectedly questioning him about the debts of his past affairs.

Lu Shangjin laid sideways beside Yan Yi and held him in his arms. He then took out the patience he wouldn’t normally have and said, “No, don’t say the word ‘partner’, I’ve broken off from all of them. You’re my omega, you’re different from them.”

Yan Yi curved his eyes as he smiled reluctantly. He squeezed into Lu Shangjin’s arms lovingly, and took the initiative to put his arm over Lu Shangjin’s lean and muscular waist.

Sure enough, Lu Shangjin instantly became quiet, hugging Yan Yi in relief.

Yan Yi was just too tired, he didn’t want to argue a few words more with Lu Shangjin.

Lu Shangjin couldn’t be blamed as well. After all, no one could understand how painful it was if they hadn’t gotten injected by a highly-concentrated inhibitor themselves.

He said he was sorry. But in fact, he didn’t understand what he had done wrong.

Lu Shangjin didn’t want to know what he wanted at all. He was just giving on a sudden impulse and hoping for an equal return.

He had broken off with all of them, but he was just tired of playing, the next batch can be replaced any minute.

Yan Yi was different from them, of course he was. Lu Shangjin’s beloved omegas had an unlimited balance, luxurious sports cars, and a house under their own names. Yan Yi was the only one who had nothing, he was indeed very different.

Lu Shangjin had beaten up that M2 rhinoceros alpha last night, and who knows if that alpha still had a way to live. He had always been vicious when he fought, completely ruthless when he set his hands on someone, and even exhausted the energy of his own glands.

Just now, in bed, Lu Shangjin had been constantly releasing soothing pheromones to relieve Yan Yi of his pain. Feeling a little tired as well, he held the soft little rabbit in his arms and soon fell asleep.

Yan Yi stroked his belly gently; there was no movement from the baby, he didn’t know if the baby had been jabbed by Lu Shangjin just now.

The baby’s life was so hard, having to endure such a thoughtless father.

Yan Yi looked sideways at Lu Shangjin’s face. His deep eye sockets could only appear gentle when his eyes were closed. The tall and straight bridge of his nose casted a small shadow on his face. Yan Yi used his whole body to hug the broad chest into his arms, pressing against the distinct lines of his eight-pack abdominal muscles.

Such a seductively attractive appearance; how can it contain such a cold and detached heart?

“Jin ge.” Yan Yi opened his mouth silently and gently tracing his fingertips over Lu Shangjin’s eyes and eyebrows. Lu Shangjin’s even breaths swept lightly over his fingertips.

This was an image in his dream; Lu Shangjin lying next to him, holding him, protecting him in his arms. Even in his sleep, he was releasing soothing pheromones, letting the little rabbit in his arms sleep more peacefully.

“It’s enough for you to care about me today, I’m not greedy.” Yan Yi put his hand on the back of Lu Shangjin’s hand and overlapped their fingertips.

How could he dare to go back with him?

Lu Shangjin’s warmth was uncertain. It’s good to just leave a good memory.

    ——

When Lu Shangjin woke up, his arms were empty.

He sat up and saw that the sky outside through the thin curtains was getting late, his heart felt lost and disappointed.

Turning his head, he saw a bowl of chicken porridge still warm on the bedside table, so he relaxed and picked up the bowl. He then smelled the faint scent of milk candy clinging to the edge of the bowl, touched by the little rabbit’s white and delicate fingers.

Somehow, it usually smelled ordinarily sweet, but now there was a strange sense of nostalgia when it entered his nasal cavity. Lu Shangjin couldn’t bear to miss a single grain of rice as he drank the porridge to the last drop.

His shirt was hung neatly in the closet, free of any wrinkles.

Lu Shangjin went down to the first floor. The bar was very lively, and the rotating stage lamp projected countless circular light spots on the ground. That husky alpha was sitting on a bar stool with his guitar, the live webcam was placed in the corner, tuned out to a suitable angle, while he sang fan-requested songs selflessly.

All kinds of customers were gathered around the bar. Several little omegas were watching the rabbit-eared bartender behind the bar with faces full of fascination.

An omega boy asked Yan Yi shyly, “Your ears are so cute, can I touch them?”

Yan Yi was wearing the bartender’s waistcoat as usual. He pushed a glass of holiday sweetness to the omega, and with a twist of his finger, a small daisy ornament appeared on the wine glass. He held his cheek with one hand and lifted his lips slightly, “There’s a price for touching it.”

He then snapped his fingers, flipped out a light-coloured card and pushed it to little omega, “The boss wants to make a wishing tree. Do you want to be the first baby to hang it?”

The omega’s face was like a little red balloon. With bulging cheeks, he wrote a card to Yan Yi. Yan Yi then lifted a rabbit ear and let the omega touch it.

“So soft…” the omega boy’s face turned red after touching it.

Several alpha travel partners came to strike up a conversation with Yan Yi, whistling and leaning over the bar to wink deliberately at him, “Little bunny, we want to touch your ears too, can we? Your tail can do too.”

“Only cute omegas can touch them.” Yan Yi sat sideways behind the bar and said with a light smile, “Gentlemen can’t just touch omegas ears.”

The strobing circular light shone on the side of Yan Yi’s face; the little rabbit seemed like he was shining.

Lu Shangjin stood by the wooden stairs. It turned out that the little white rabbit who was not at home wearing an apron and focusing on housework, could look so beautiful when he was outside.

Yan Yi noticed Lu Shangjin standing beside the wooden stairs, and the smile on the corner of his lips dwindled slightly.
