Gu Chaocheng’s story

Chapter 18

Xie Zhiyao said that he was about to participate in the entertainment singing stage, which was the largest stage he had ever been on since his debut.

Gu Chaocheng asked him if he was nervous, and Xie Zhiyao hummed for a long time, then said honestly, “I am nervous, Gu Chaochao, I’m not famous, no one would notice if I can’t dance well or sing well, but if more people like me in the future, there will be more people who would scold me as well.”

Xie Zhiyao suddenly stopped laughing and didn’t speak for a long time. Just when Gu Chaocheng thought Xie Zhiyao was asleep and was ready to hang up the video call, Xie Zhiyao’s face suddenly squeezed into the camera again. He didn’t look at Gu Chaocheng, and his voice was very small, “Gu Chaochao, I lack a boyfriend.”

Gu Chaocheng paused, he thought that Xie Zhiyao’s words meant something, but he was worried that he was thinking too much. 

Xie Zhiyuan saw that Gu Chaocheng didn’t speak, and sighed with disappointment. The video call ended like this.

A few days later, Xie Zhiyao and his group set out to the entertainment singing stage. What he didn’t expect was that he saw Gu Chaocheng at the site of the program. Gu Chaocheng and the director were sitting in front of the French window drinking coffee. When he saw Xie Zhiyao and his group entering the door, his eyes stopped for a moment before withdrawing back. 

Xie Zhiyao took advantage of the other group members’ doing their makeup to pull Gu Chaocheng to the deserted staircase.

Gu Chaocheng said that he came to discuss advertising. Xie Zhiyao looked at him with arched brows, “Don’t bully me for being uncultured. Does the advertising work still need the president to come in person?”

Gu Chaocheng’s face turned stiff, but he didn’t forget to explain the sole purpose of his trip. He patted Xie Zhiyao on the shoulder and told him, “Perform well. Don’t worry about everything else.”

Xie Zhiyao’s nose was sour. He stretched out his hand and hugged Gu Chaocheng before quickly letting go and using a joke to cover up his liking for him, “Wow! It feels so good to be watched by a big shot!”

Gu Chaocheng looked down at him and turned away before Xie Zhiyao’s eyes met his. But even if he was as dull as he was, he could feel that the ambiguity in the atmosphere was getting stronger and stronger.

Pushing the door out of the stairwell, one would bump into Wu Ke. When he saw Gu Chaocheng behind Xie Zhiyao, he was stunned, but quickly lowered his head and left hurriedly.

Chapter 19

Because there was hope, time suddenly became faster.

When Gu Chaocheng came home that day, he received a text from Gu Chenbai, “Ge, the day after tomorrow is your birthday, remember to come home, we’ll celebrate together.”

Gu Chaocheng was taken aback. He forgot that the day after tomorrow was his birthday, 

That day, after finishing his work, he drove from Hua Sheng to his parents’ house. After parking the car, he walked to the door and knocked. He thought it would be the nanny to open the door, but as soon as the door was opened, Tu Yan was standing inside wearing a maternity shirt. 

The two on opposite sides were speechless. 

Two seconds later, Tu Yan suddenly covered his slightly swollen stomach and said affectably, “Ah, little rabbit, don’t be scared, it’s not the wolf who came, it’s your uncle.”

Gu Chaocheng’s eyelids twitched. He decided not to waste today’s good occasion and  bicker with Tu Yan.

Gu Chenbai had cooked Gu Chaocheng’s favourite dishes in the kitchen. Tu Yan ran over with bouncing steps and stole a cucumber stick, then he stood next to Gu Chenbai holding his arms and puzzledly said, “Gu Chaocheng has a problem. He surprisingly isn’t quarrelling with me!”

Gu Chenbai said helplessly, “Do you like to quarrel with him that much?”

“Hmph! I just like to watch him be defeated, what’s the matter with him? He’s completely ignoring me.”

Gu Chenbai put down the knife in his hand, turned around and leaned on the cabinet. He pulled Tu Yan’s waist and grinned, “Do you want to know? Kiss me and I’ll tell you.”

Tu Yan pushed Gu Chenbai’s arms away, ”In your dreams.”

Gu Chenbai smiled and let go of him, but Tu Yan was curious again after a while, so he leaned over and pecked Gu Chenbai’s face, “Say it.”

Gu Chenbai leaned down and spoke in Tu Yan’s ear, “He has someone he likes, so he’s not in the mood to quarrel with you.”

Tu Yan was shocked, “My curse has failed!”

Gu Chenbai patted his butt, “Tu Bao, my ge’s happiness is not won easily, so don’t cause trouble.”

Tu Yan bit the cucumber fiercely, pretending to disagree.

The two elders of the Gu family and grandpa Gu finally came. The family gathered together to chat and laugh. At nine o’clock in the evening, grandpa Gu couldn’t hold on anymore, so he waved his hand and said he wanted to go back to sleep. Gu Chaocheng wanted to send the old man back, so he took his phone from the sofa and was about to call the driver, but he found three missed calls and seven or eight unread messages.

Gu Chaocheng quickly thought of that person.

Once opened, it turned out as expected; it was Xie Zhiyao.

At that moment, Gu Chaocheng felt his heart was in a mess.

He looked at the old man in embarrassment. Gu Chenbai came over and glanced at his phone, “What’s the matter?”

“I have a friend-”

Gu Chenbai smiled and pushed him, “Go quickly, Grandpa, I’ll see you off.”

When Gu Chaocheng sped over and arrived at the end of Yu Feng road, Xie Zhiyao was still squatting under the signboard and playing with the ribbon of the cake box pitifully. As he raised his head and saw Gu Chaocheng not too far away, his aimless eyes suddenly lit up. He stood up, leaving the cake in his hand, and rushed straight in Gu Chaocheng’s direction. Gu Chaocheng stopped and opened his arms, and the next second, Xie Zhiyao rushed into them.

“Gu Chaochao, I’ve been waiting for you for such a long time,” Xie Zhiyao said, feeling wronged. “I’ve been waiting until my hair became messy and the ice cream cake melted.”

With a slow reaction, Gu Chaocheng stretched out his hand, hugged Xie Zhiyao’s waist, and hooped him into his arms, “I’m sorry.”

“I actually wanted to give you a surprise, so I didn’t tell you. I wanted to tell you again this afternoon, but the cake shop wrote your name wrong on the cake, and I waited the whole afternoon until…”

Xie Zhiyao buried his face in Gu Chaocheng’s neck. “I called you but you didn’t answer, and neither did you reply to my texts. I thought you didn’t want to pay attention to me anymore.”

Gu Chaocheng touched Xie Zhiyao’s face, and then touched his tears.

Xie Zhiyao lifted his head, “I thought since I bothered you every day, you disliked me and hated me-“

Before Xie Zhiyao finished speaking, he was stopped by a gentle kiss.

Gu Chaocheng lowered his head and sealed Xie Zhiyao’s lips. His movements were strange, but there was a kind of cautious tenderness. Then, he felt Xie Zhiyao’s tongue break in and touch him.

He remembered the message Gu Chenbai had sent when he was on the way.

Chapter 20 

“Gu Chaochao, I haven’t confessed to you yet!”

Xie Zhiyao, who didn’t know how to kiss, resumed breathing normally with effort. He then stuck to Gu Chaocheng’s arms, put his chin on Gu Chaocheng’s chest, and looked up at him as he complained, “You’ve messed up my plan.”

“What was your original plan?”

“It’s to confess to you after your birthday. If you agree, I’ll have a boyfriend. If you don’t agree -“

“I agree!” Gu Chaocheng said hurriedly.

Xie Zhiyao narrowed his eyes with a smile, “I didn’t think you would disagree too.” Xie Zhiyao stood on his tiptoes and kissed Gu Chaocheng’s mouth again, “Gu Chaochao, you like me too, don’t you?”

Gu Chaocheng was stunned. He looked at Xie Zhiyao, who was very close, and saw his lips that turned crimson red from kissing, as well as his wet eyes. Xie Zhiyao was twenty-one this year, but he was still like a child most of the time, spoiled and sticky to others, but always energetic. Gu Chaocheng, who was seven years older than him, should have been the dominant one of this relationship. However, it seemed that from the beginning, Xie Zhiyao grabbed the line first and firmly held it in his hand, while Gu Chaocheng followed him in every step.

Xie Zhiyao didn’t get upset because of Gu Chaocheng’s silence. He still stared at Gu Chaocheng like that, and his smile deepened.

Xie Zhiyao never said that he was slow, a person of few words, nor unromantic and insensitive. 

“I do.” Gu Chaocheng said seriously. 

The first time I saw you, when you waved to me on the stage, I had already fallen in love with you. It’s just that this feeling is too strange for me and I didn’t dare to think much about it, and even thought I had done something wrong.

Xie Zhiyao smiled and hugged Gu Chaocheng’s neck, “Why are you so cute, Gu Chaochao.”

Xie Zhiyao thought about the chat he had with his friends a long time ago where they talked about a topic; if you wanted to ask the other person whether they liked you or not, do you want them to answer without thinking or think about it before answering? Xie Zhiyao was the only one present who chose the latter. His friends said that he was so boring. Falling in love required beating hearts and stimulation.

Xie Zhiyao couldn’t refute it at that time because he had never been in love. But now, he can say proudly that he met the person who made his heart beat faster and made him fall asleep safely.

“So now, can you accept the scent of an omega?” Xie Zhiyao blinked at Gu Chaocheng and said with profound meaning, “My heat is coming soon.”

Gu Chaocheng took a long time to react. Xie Zhiyao made him all flustered. He helplessly hugged him in his arms, lowered his voice and said, “Xie Zhiyao, why are you not ashamed at all?”

Chapter 21 

Xie Zhiyao’s shameful wish did not come true in time, because Gu Chaocheng felt that the pace of dating shouldn’t be too fast.

He bought a new cake, took Xie Zhiyao home, blew the candles with him, and then kissed him with cream on his mouth for a while, but he still let go of him at midnight and sent him to bed to sleep. 

Xie Zhiyao rolled on the bed, yanked the hem of Gu Chaocheng’s clothes, and begged him to make love. 

Gu Chaocheng didn’t agree or look at Xie Zhiyao, but went into the bathroom without saying a word.

Gu Chaocheng worked a lot during the day and drank two glasses of red wine with his parents at home at night. When he laid on the bed in the guest room, he soon felt sleepy, but there was always a string stretching in his mind, which made his mind active as he indulged in letting his imaginations run wild. 

He thought about what would happen if Xie Zhiyao came in when he was in the shower…

Gu Chaocheng, a virgin who had been holding back for too many years, opened his eyes from his charming fantasy. He sighed quietly, and then got up again to go to the bathroom.

When he came out, he passed by the master bedroom. Xie Zhiyao hadn’t slept yet. He was lying on his side as he looked at the door, smiling at Gu Chaocheng from the distance, “Gu Chaochao, why haven’t you slept?”

Gu Chaocheng’s face froze, and he went straight to the guest bedroom without answering.

Their relationship was confirmed just like that. Xie Zhiyao also felt that it was very strange, but when he thought about it carefully, he felt that it was natural. 

There was no formula for love in this world. Who said that you had to know each other and accompany each other before falling in love.

On this day, Xie Zhiyao called Gu Chaocheng as soon as he finished his program and asked him when he finished his work. Gu Chaocheng said he was a little busy, so he asked the driver to pick up Xie Zhiyao and take him to Hua Sheng.

The driver’s car stopped downstairs in the company dormitory. Xie Zhiyao trotted downstairs, and after getting in, he suddenly remembered something, “Chen ge, please go to Yu Feng road. There’s a restaurant on that road that has good food. I’ll buy dinner for president Gu.”

Chapter 22

Gu Chaocheng had always felt that his ability to concentrate was very good, but he had questioned himself recently, because Xie Zhiyao was by his side and he couldn’t even write properly.

The driver parked the car in the underground garage. Xie Zhiyao got on and pestered Gu Chaocheng, saying that he wanted to eat the Kanto cooking at Yu Feng road.

Gu Chaocheng naturally depended on him, but as they approached Yu Feng road, Xie Zhiyao said he didn’t want to eat any more and urged the driver to drive home quickly. Gu Chaocheng’s expression suddenly froze. He forced himself to calm down and said to Xie Zhiyao, “Zhiyao, let’s get off and walk.”

After hearing this, Xie Zhiyao’s heart felt sour.

He shook his head and said, “I don’t want to go, let’s go home.”

The driver’s car reached the end of Yu Feng Road, turned on the turn signal and was about to drive in. Gu Chaocheng’s entire body tensed up. As soon as he touched the door lock, he was stopped by Xie Zhiyao’s sharp eyes and agile hands. Xie Zhiyao pressed the door lock, and then turned over and sat on Gu Chaocheng’s lap.

Gu Chaocheng was obviously angry. He screwed his eyebrows together and wanted to pull Xie Zhiyao off of him, but Xie Zhiyao stuck to Gu Chaocheng like glue, clinging extremely tightly to him. The more Gu Chaocheng struggled, the tighter he held on.

“Xie Zhiyao!”

“Don’t push me. I’ve been dancing all day today, my bones are falling apart.”

Under his refusal to budge, Gu Chaocheng quickly guessed Xie Zhiyao’s intention. He released his hand, giving up a little, and said to Xie Zhiyao, “Don’t be like this. I’m not as pitiful as you think.”

“I just want to go home quickly. My back is sore.” Xie Zhiyao pretended not to hear, but even leaned on Gu Chaocheng.

“Zhiyao, you-”

Xie Zhiyao suddenly hugged Gu Chaocheng’s head, pressed him to his chest, and then quickly winked at the driver to let him drive quickly.

Xie Zhiyao rubbed the back of Gu Chaocheng’s neck and patted him on the back like a child. “Gu Chaochao, I’m here. The past is not your fault, and that zebra crossing is not the evidence of your mistake. It’s just a narrow zebra crossing, we’ll cross it in a swoosh.”

“I will accompany you in the future, Gu Chaochao, you are the best in my heart. We will be together for a very long time.”

“Are you willing to make such a small change for me?”

The noise outside the car disappeared, the whole world was only left with Xie Zhiyao’s steady and powerful heartbeat in his small chest. 

Thump, thump, thump…

Without knowing how long it took, Xie Zhiyao loosened his arms and released his strength. He kissed Gu Chaocheng’s forehead and told him, “Gu Chaochao, we’re out of Yu Feng road.”

Gu Chaocheng looked at Xie Zhiyao with his eyes a little blurred. Xie Zhiyao touched his face and wiped away the tears from the corners of his eyes.

The two of them looked at each other quietly.

“I will accompany you every day in the future. Don’t be afraid.”

When they arrived home, Gu Chaocheng let Xie Zhiyao hold his hand as they entered and exited the elevator. After opening the door, Xie Zhiyao was about to say, “let’s watch a movie.”

But the next second, he was lifted up by Gu Chaocheng and pressed against the wall. Gu Chaocheng sealed his lips with a kiss, showing Xie Zhiyao his strong alpha aura for the first time.

Gu Chaocheng asked him, “Can I?”

For those hopes and expectations that he had never told others, he had found all the answers to them in this person.

Finally, Xie Zhiyao almost fell asleep in a dazed state. Gu Chaocheng leaned over and kissed him, telling him, “I love you.”

“Big stupid dog.” Xie Zhiyao murmured.

Gu Chaocheng wasn’t angry after hearing this, he only held him in his arms, “I really am stupid.”
